What Do I Do When a Client Replies to a Client Task in a Different Way?

If a client responds to a Client Task in a different manner (conversations, email, phone, carrier pigeon), the accounting professional can close the Client Task out as explained in this article.

Let's face it, getting anyone to change a behavior can be a challenge, but don't give up on them quite yet. Here are a few ideas to help you encourage your clients to respond to Client Task properly:

Be specific

Make sure to be very clear when sending a Client Task. Rather than"please send bank statement"consider adding a bit more meat and writing"please upload your bank statement to thisClient Task*".*If you need this information from a specific client user consider adding their name to the description.

Explain why

Remind clients that the Client Task feature allows for them to view the list of items you are waiting on from them. Let them know that their response to the Client Tasks notifies you that they have responded and allows you to view and close the item out - removing it from the list of open items in their workspace.
