How to create a Job Template

Job Templates allow you to create templates for everyday services you offer your clients. Job templates can include internal tasks as well as client tasks.
Once a job template is created, you can apply the template to any client to create a Job.

There are 3 basic ways to create Job Templates from the Job Templates tab in the Templates page.

Use the Client Hub templates.

You can create a template for your firm by starting from one of our many helpful Client Hub templates:

  • Click the Client Hub Templates Tab within the Job Templates area
  • Choose a template similar to the job you wish to create and click it to view the list of basic tasks on the right.
  • In the upper right-hand corner of the template, click the actions icon (...).
  • Choose "Add to Firm Templates"
Manually Create Templates
  • Click the add (+) button
  • Insert a title for your template as Job Title
  • Add Job setting (optional), tasks, and client tasks one by one by clicking "+ Task" or "+ Client Task" in the Tasks area (the template will be auto-saved with each change)
Use our AI Magic Jobs
  • Click the Magic Wand icon
  • Type a description of the Job template you want to create (the more precise the description, the more accurate the template will be) - ex: How to process year end 1099 forms using QuickBooks Online
  • Review the task list and the details of each task and modify as necessary to fit your process.
